In college it is very clear that money needs to be able to go a long way. Students barely have enough money for books so food needs to be quick and cheap. As students we often us the excuse of being broke so that we wont have to eat healthy. Now lets keep in mind food is very expensive not even including organic. In college we want something that easy to make cheap then good for you, in that order. Here are a few restaurants that are less expensive but still gets you out your room from eating ramen noodles all night.
Indian: Saffrons located at (1710 West Main-Lunch buffet / Indian Cuisine located at (2925 S Westnedge)
our students of the cook book actually enjoyed India. A lot of them have never really had it before they were request to go. Each of them said it was a first for Indian food in general. Some of our Student got:
Blistering Shrimp Vindaloo - 13.95 which is Shrimp cooked in a spicy sauce with tomatoes and tender potatoes
Mesquite Daal du Jour - 10.95 which is Lentil cooked with spices and pan-seared with fresh herbs
Savory Palak Paneer - $11.95 which is Homemade cheese and creamed spinach cooked in tomatoes, onions, zesty garlic, ginger, and spices.
Also the students that spoke of these restaurants said that the owner was very polite and answer any question they had about food.
Middle Eastern: Zooroonas located at (1710 West Main) / Shwarma King located at (2925 S Westnedge)
our students that ate at these resturants had mixed review. With this being their first time trying it some said they didn't too much care for it. Others say it wasn't bad at all and would try it again. We didn't get a review back from the owner, but we did here that's its clean heres what a student ordered.
