Synopsis:

Minecraft is a building game that emphasis creativity and survival.
The whole point of the game is to mine, build, hunt, and be as creative
as you can. There are very little rules to the world. However, hunger
is something that does not go away, unless you are on "Peaceful"
difficulty or in "Creative Mode."

Food Survival:

Hunger allows your character to heal and to run. When lose two hunger bars, your character cannot regenerate health. When you lose all but three hunger bars, your character can no longer sprint.

In order to fill hunger bars, you can either choose to farm or hunt. Hunger drops according to activity. Mining and running take up the most hunger.

Farming is simple enough: you plant seeds in tilled dirt near water.

The seeds will grow into wheat, potatoes, carrots and potatoes right away. rots, etc. From the wheat, you can make cake or bread, while you can eat the carrots and potatoes raw.

Food (Mini Game Servers)

However, it goes further than that. Minecraft can be played on multiplayer severs. Because of this, "Hunger Games" has taken over. Most large online serves that contain mini-games allow their patrons to play the "Hunger Games.

It is difficult to win, much less get into the death match between the final four tributes. Food is sparse and the weapons even more so. And there are 23 other people you have to kill in order win.

And it is popular too.

CaptainSparklez, or Jordan Maron, the man narrating this video, has over 7 million subscribers. On average, his Hunger Games videos gain over 100 thousand views in the first few hours they're uploaded.

Thanks to this media attention, players seem to get more and more enjoyment about pigs falling to the ground and pork chops replace it's body, or seeing your opponent vanish in a firework, giving you all of their loot.

This impact could turn negative quickly, as it means these games are desensitizing the newer generation of game players. It is making the violent deaths of animals and people into something that is commonly seen. Although it is needed in order to survive in this gaming situation, the kills are done in human ways (sword, bow, ax, etc.).
