This recipe is to die for. I literally eat several helpings in one serving. I will warn you before you read anymore that this recipe goes against everything this website is about. It is unhealthy; it is fattening and downright bad for your health. So, be advised and read on with care. Looking for something to bring to a family get together or party but don’t have a lot of time? This is the recipe you’re looking for. Quick and easy comfort food.
You will need:
1 bag of frozen diced potatoes
8 oz sour cream
1 can of cheese soup
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1. Dump all ingredients in cooking dish (casserole dish) except shredded cheese
2. Place dish in the oven at 350 degrees
3. Cook for approximately twenty minutes stirring occasionally
4. Add shredded cheese the last ten minutes
Really it is that easy! Once it is out of the oven just let it cool and then dig in, you might not be able to stop. You can add ham if you want. This recipe reheats in the microwave really well. Great for the rest of the week.
NUTRITIONAL VALUE: none, if you're gonna eat it you don’t even want to know.
This is a family recipe share at your discretion…
My family has always been about food. Every get together we have had has been surrounded by food. My family is all about good ole comfort food. Cheesy potatoes, sugary marshmalloey fruit salad, cream cheese chip dip, barbeque slathered pulled pork, more dessert than is necessary, soda, and much, much more. We are just your average dutch people looking for good food and a good time. But as we all get older I notice most of my family tries to eat better. My aunt and uncle eat healthy and exercise, my other aunt is eating better and running in marathons, my grandparents are eating better as a result of my grandfathers poor health, and I, too, am making great strides to take better care of my body. I love food but I love being healthy and good looking so I have taken great interest in what goes into my body. As you will see throughout this site, ignorance is bliss. But once you wake up to the world of food, it is completely different. I think more and more people are becoming aware of how bad things have gotten. Farmers markets are becoming popular again and so is urban farming. Movies are being made and more articles are informing the consumer of the hazards of the food industry and the negligence of the government as they turn a blind eye. Overall, we all can make a difference individually to shape a healthier world. But, as you can see from this recipe sometimes its okay to just splurge.
